The Council of Canadian Academies (CCA) has released a new report assessing Canada’s science, technology, and innovation performance.

Science-Metrix was commissioned by the CCA to conduct bibliometric and technometric analyses for this latest edition of The State of Science, Technology, and Innovation in Canada. Building on earlier studies from 2006, 2011, and 2016, the 2025 report covers 2012–2023 and draws on global publication and patent data to benchmark Canada’s research output, impact, collaboration patterns, and largest research areas against international peers.
