Éric Archambault is the CEO and founder of Science-Metrix and 1science. An expert in science policy and a seasoned bibliometrician, he has more than 20 years of experience conducting and managing S&T evaluation and bibliometric studies for Canadian and international governmental organizations, as well as for clients in the academic, not-for-profit and private sectors.

Dr. Archambault is a vocal advocate of open access scientific publishing, and through his company 1science he is developing an integrated online open access discovery platform and institutional repository solution. The company is dedicated to assisting institutions to source, utilize and share open access scientific literature and to help them comply with the open access mandates of government and philanthropic funding bodies.

Dr. Archambault is a member of the Canadian, American and European evaluation societies. He is a renowned researcher and practitioner in scientometrics, a member of the editorial board of the journal Scientometrics, and a lifetime member of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics (ISSI). He has published many highly cited papers in refereed journals and has presented his research at many national and international conferences. He has a Doctorate in Science and Technology Policy Studies from the University of Sussex, UK (SPRU).
