Science-Metrix is proud to support conferences and events that provide opportunities for community- and capacity-building in bibliometrics, evaluation, and science and technology. Science-Metrix recently sponsored two such events, one in Canada and one in the US.
From May 2nd to 5th, Science-Metrix was a supporting partner of the Student Case Competition 2010 at the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) 2010 Conference in Victoria, British Columbia. Vice-President of Evaluation at Science-Metrix, Frédéric Bertrand, attended the student case competition: “We are happy to support the case competition once again, because it is an exceptional opportunity for students to gain real-world experience, visibility and recognition as future evaluators. This is a truly valuable activity for the advancement of the profession in Canada.”
The following week, Science-Metrix sponsored the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Forum on Science & Technology Policy in Washington, D.C. During this forum, Science-Metrix presented on the topic of “New Approaches to U.S.-EU Collaboration to Address Global Challenges”.
On a side note, Science-Metrix also recently had the pleasure of meeting science policy-makers, communicators and researchers at the annual meeting of the AAAS in San Diego, California (February 18–22, 2010). The Science-Metrix booth in the Exhibit Hall attracted much attention, as attendees came by to chat about our services and to pick up a copy of our 30 Years in Science discussion paper.
