The French version of the web site was released in early June 2004.

On June 17 and 18 in Brussels, Science-Metrix participated in an international workshop on performance assessment of public research, technology and development (RTD) programs. This event was organized by the European Commission in collaboration with the Washington Research Evaluation Network (WREN).

The objective of this workshop was to compare experiences, present new ideas and explore new avenues for sharing data used in the evaluation of research.

On May 25 and 26 in Ottawa, Science-Metrix participated in an executive workshop on biotechnology. This event was organized by the Institute On Governance (IOG) under the patronage of Dr. Arthur Carty, the prime minister’s national science adviser and in collaboration with the Canadian Biotechnology Secretariat (CBS).

This workshop aimed to examine systematically, in dialogue with all partners, the strengths and weaknesses of the Canadian biotechnology sector and to develop a strategic action plan to maximize the benefits of biotechnology.
