INTERVIEWS AND SURVEYS

Interviews and surveys are essential tools for obtaining information that does not exist elsewhere. This qualitative information and quantitative data is a vital aid to the interpretation of information produced by documentary research, scientometrics and technometrics. These techniques can retrieve information held only by particular experts or key stakeholders. They can also provide overviews of public opinion, either in general or by targeted sub-groups. The systematic use of these techniques, particularly when performing census surveys, enables us to obtain detailed statistics on target populations or to create complete repertories on industrial strata, for example.

Science-Metrix clients have gained insight into trends and opinions among key national and international players thanks to surveys conducted as part of strategic studies or market analyses. Telephone or electronic (website or e-mail) surveys are quick and cost-effective ways of collecting strategic data.

Science-Metrix uses the SNAP Survey Software (SNAP). This software can be used to create and modify questionnaires in consultation with clients and to produce robust statistics and survey reports.
