Stéphane Mercure, research analyst, contributes to the realization of studies aimed at evaluating science and technology, primarily in the field of life sciences. He joined the Science-Metrix team in 2005 after several years of working in the biotechnology industry as a researcher and, most recently, as a manager of business development. In 1995, Stéphane obtained a master's degree in Business Administration at HEC-Montreal, as well as a doctorate in Microbiology at the University of Montreal. He then continued his research on autocatalytic RNAs from human pathogens while fulfilling his post-doctoral training at the University of Sherbrooke . After the progress he made during his five years as a researcher at Ecopia Biosciences Inc., where he was part of a team that discovered drugs through the application of genomic techniques, he turned to marketing and technology transfer when he joined Mirador DNA Design, eventually becoming a consultant. Since joining Science-Metrix, Stéphane has carried out market research as well as the preparation of texts and evaluation reports in the areas of biotechnology, sustainable development, and the management and measurement of research impacts, as mandated by various public or private organizations.
