Frédéric Bertrand, Evaluation Associate at Science-Metrix, is responsible for program evaluation and performance measurement of science-based organizations and other related research activities. He is also responsible for science and technology (S&T) literature reviews, environmental scans, electronic surveys and telephone-based interviews. He has previously worked as a research officer in the field of S&T intelligence and monitoring, measurement and communications at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique – Urbanisation, Culture et Société (INRS-UCS). He has also contributed to the elaboration of S&T policy management tools at Environment Canada and worked on several environmental biology research projects at Université Laval, Université du Québec à Montréal and at Université de Sherbrooke.

Frédéric holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Université Laval and a master's degree in environmental sciences from the Institut des sciences de l’environnement (ISE) at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). He recently performed program evaluations for SSHRC, NanoQuebec and Natural Resources Canada.
